COVID-19 FAQ

Bite the Fruit is committed to supporting our customers during this difficult time. We are doing our part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 while providing friendly, caring service and quality products.


Can I visit the store?

No, not at this time. The District has ordered the closure of non-essential businesses through June 8. If all goes well, we anticipate to reopen on June 9.


Since the store is closed, how can I purchase items?

Place an order through our website: bitethefruit.com. Our online store is extremely user friendly. Depending on availability, we ship orders right away in plain packaging using United Parcel Service (UPS). It is convenient, discreet and fast.


How quickly can I expect my order?

Orders over the weekend are shipped on Monday. Orders during the week, are typically shipped within a day.


Do you ship everywhere?

No, we only ship to the 48 continguous states. We do not ship to international addresses, US territories, Alaska, Hawaii, post office boxes or military boxes.


Do you guarantee your delivery date?

We regret that UPS, as a result of the outbreak, no longer guarantees its services. UPS ground service in the Washington DC area usually arrives within three days.


How do I check on the status of my order?

You should receive a confirmation email when we ship your order. The email will include the UPS tracking number of your shipment. To check the status of your shipment, go to UPS.com and enter the tracking number.


Is it safe to handle my package and items in my order?

The risk of contracting COVID-19 from a shipped package is low. We recommend that you wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds after handling your package.

Although not necessary, you may want to wipe down your items with sanitizing wipes or an alcohol-based cleaner as you unpack your shipment.


Are you accepting returns?

Contact us for a return shipping label. We may grant store credit or exchange for non-personal items if returned in new, unused condition, within 30 days of the date of purchase. The original sales receipt is required. No store credit or exchange is provided for personal items, solvents or lubricants. Acquire shipping insurance for items valued at $100 or more.

What is Bite the Fruit doing about COVID-19?

As always, the health and safety of our customers and employees are our top priority. Consequently, we are following the guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These measures include: 


· Employees complete wellness checks before shifts

· Hand sanitizer available for customers and employees

· Increased cleaning procedures in high touch areas

· Employees wear provided masks at all times

· Social distancing of six feet or more

· Gloves to be worn by employees

· Plexiglass shields installed at counter
